When did drivers stop obeying the rules of the road?
Through observation I have decided that the rules of the road as I know them have changed. Now I guess people can decide if they apply to them. I sometimes think cars no longer have directional signals. When a light turns red people in multiple numbers (usually three) fly through like the light isn't there. A car practically in my trunk actually passed me on Paradise Avenue in Hamden, a really stupid thing to do. Stop signs used to been meant for everyone. So many people are still on the phone although it's still illegal, isn't it?
There are, of course, drivers who drive safely. Unfortunately they are often the victims of the drivers in such a hurry they make the roads unsafe for everyone else. It's like the Wild West on our roads, so be careful out there.

How about being a legal resident, having a license and insurance? If those are not requirements why should speed limits, turn signals, signal lights ect.... be required?

The combination of partisan party politics and inept politicians is destroying our Country.
Politics has become a sporting competition with a Red team and a Blue team. Politicians and the people blindly support their team with no logic or reason. Politicians are just concerned with their party winning or the other party losing; they don’t have any consideration for the people or the Country.
Washington was never up to the task of controlling the borders and immigration got totally out of hand. A tourniquet is needed to stop the bleeding and major surgery is needed to fix the problem but only Band-Aids are being used again and again hoping the problem will go away. It is and has been blatantly obvious for years that the bleeding has not stopped. They keep trying different Band-Aids on the “un-documented” workers when one tourniquet on the border would do the job.
Conn politicians just performed slight of hand legislation which will make the “un-documented” situation go away; they are giving “illegals” a driver’s license. They diverted your focus using safety and insurance conditions as the ploy, but now those people are no longer “un-documented”, it’s outrageous!
Our Gov’t is broken; it is time to replace the politicians that broke it. Just vote out the incumbents. Sometimes it is difficult because you have to vote for someone in the other party but it will be worth it, try it once.

Joel, good thoughts but it will never work. The Democratic uninformed zombie voters will only continue to vote in the Democrats. No brains when it comes to voting in the same sleazes over and over. Just look at Obama, not a leader, takes no responsibility, just a social cheerleader yet they voted him in for a second term.
God forbid they vote Hillary in that will just carry on the downfall of our country.
Disgusting how a majority of voters are being bought off by giving them free stuff.
Of course. The reason drivers flout traffic laws isn't because they're willfully bad drivers, it's because the other guy won last election day.
