Quinnipiac students came to rescue in February blizzard
I want to take this opportunity to thank the wonderful young
men who came to this old women’s (I’m in my 80s) rescue during the 2013
blizzard.
As a precaution, my niece, Judy Sittnick, bless her, insisted I
stay with her in East Haven during the storm in case I lost power. When
she took me to my Evergreen Avenue home in Hamden after the storm, we realized
we had to climb through hip deep snow. As we were struggling, four
Quinnipiac University students in a white SUV stopped and helped me into my
house. They were wonderful.
On Monday after the storm, my niece and her friend Ray Monaco
were trying to remove big ice chunks that the town trucks once again deposited
at the end of my driveway, when a woman and four young men from Woodbridge came by
and voluntarily helped to remove that very heavy snow and ice.
I didn’t get the names of these good Samaritans but I want them
to know I am truly grateful!
