Bias against fathers showed in Register editorial
As a father, I take issue with your Feb. 6 editorial regarding
fathers and their role with their children. Instead of helping dads, you
support the current role dads play, which is to visit their children. Visiting
is not raising children. If you think visiting children is fair, it’s not. And
if you claim it is fair, then let the mothers do the visiting. It is a horrible
thing to do to any parent. Instead of promoting equal access to the children,
you support gender bias against dads. I, and many other fathers, could write
volumes of how unfair dads are treated in the courts. If you want to help dads
with their children, then you should start re-thinking your position and stop
your bias against dads without first knowing the facts.
