Moving newspaper printing to Hartford doesn't help delivery
Well, gentlemen, how are those changes you have been making on
production of the New Haven Register been working out for your readers during the February blizzard?
How did you get the newspapers moved from Hartford where they are
printed to the New Haven area where most of your readers are with the highways
closed?
You posted on your website that the Saturday paper would be delivered
with the Sunday paper. Didn't happen in my area of West Haven, but that might
have something to do with the fact that my delivery guy lives in Bridgeport.
Even the local library branch didn't get any papers, but then again the
delivery guy just throws them out his window as he drives by. Maybe they are
buried under all the snow that was plowed up onto the front lawn. They used to
put them in the book drop right outside the library's front door, now they are
lucky if someone doesn't walk off with it before the staff gets there.
The big
shots at the Register have to do some serious thinking about how you guys run
the production and delivery parts of the business because right now it stinks!
