Now that Mayor John DeStefano has announced that he will not seek an 11th term, many candidates will surface to throw their proverbial "hats in the ring."

Mayor DeStefano has had some major accomplishments.

I am a voter, but have never held an elected public office. I strongly suggest, and in fact, urge potential candidates to attempt to come to a consensus around ONE strong, credible candidate for the November 2013 election.

I further urge voters to educate ourselves in choosing the best candidate for mayor of our city.

Ask: Who will best serve the needs of our city and its residents/ taxpayers? Use critical thinking and analysis in making this choice.

I strongly support term limits at all levels, starting with municipal government. In the next Charter revision process, I would like to see a provision for term limits; it's long overdue.
