Federal cuts insignificant, overdue

Someone should let our senators (including our newest Sen. Murphy) and representatives to stop the "sky is falling" hysteria over a small cut for the upcoming budgets; 2.4 percent in our large budget is a small rounding error, and as they know, this is not an actual cut but a slowdown of future growth.
Households have already cut their budgets and they should follow suit. Try cutting foreign aid (beginning with Egypt); close foreign bases (we do not need to be the world's policeman); and start to bring their own perks back to reality. They should all be required to read Sen. Coburn's report on wasteful spending - $3.2 million to study fish and how democratic they are - give us taxpayers a break!
