Great New Haven landlord made February blizzard easier
I recently moved to New Haven (6 months) and have experienced the hurricane and now this blizzard.
This is the first time in over 15 years that I have parked my car outside. However, my landlord is amazing. I live in a house on Chapel Street in Wooster Square. I happen to rent from a person who is incredibly responsible and diligent. He has a service that assists with clearing walkways and the driveway when we have snow.
The service showed up on Saturday and did plow the driveway. However, as you know from all of the pictures, the cars in the lot were completely covered in snow and the end of the driveway was not plowed enough to let a car out.
My landlord was out of town until Sunday night. When he returned at 8 p.m., he promptly shoveled the end of the driveway. The next day I worked from home and watched him snowblow the rest of the parking lot (there are spaces for seven cars). He worked out there from 9 in the morning in the rain removing all the snow in between the cars and on the rest of the driveway. I just think this is incredible for him to do this much work on behalf of his tenants. I wanted to share how wonderful people can be.
