Connecticut should be tougher on repeat gun law offenders

Having read the New Haven Register's recent article about the ATF targeting gun crime, where are all the gun control crybabies now? It's sickening.
Especially the comment by Timothy Carroll, resident agent for ATF in New Haven about a recent criminal gunrunner conviction. "Carroll said Aziz was a 19-time convicted felon, and pleaded guilty to the sale of stolen firearms and was sentenced to 10 years." Carroll seemed proud they arrested and convicted this guy. Really? A 19-time convicted felon? And he only got 10 years on a gun conviction?? Am I missing something here? If 19 times a felon doesn't earn you lifetime prison sentence, what does? Murder? We have to wait for this animal to kill someone first or multiple victims maybe? Or maybe a gun he sells kills 26 kids again? Come on!
Carroll should be investigating the judicial system here that permits a 19-time felon to be walking the street and only getting 10 years for gun dealing. Now that's a crime!
I know of a guy, a one-time felon, who got 17 years for gun possession, not selling a gun. Another guy from Woodbridge got 11 years for pot dealing. Marijuana dealing! Oh yeah, that could kill 26 kids. Aziz gets 10 years for selling guns to drug traffickers. Again, am I missing something here? What's this gun commission doing in Hartford, ignoring the obvious?
Anyone convicted a second time for a violent crime or sales of dangerous weapons should receive no less than five years on top of whatever charges for being a second-time offender. A third-time offender for a violent crime or sales of a dangerous weapon should be incarcerated for no less than 20 years. Get them off the streets. And I don't mean totaling felonies that are non-violent crimes, like drug use, possession or sales, or other stupid felony laws, since our system is making almost every other offense a felony lately. But "violent" crimes and sales of "dangerous" weapons that can be used in crimes. Our laws need revising for these "violent" repeat offender type people, not non-violent offenders or new laws restricting law-abiding citizens.
