The George Zimmerman-O.J. Simpson double-standard

The black community seems outraged with the verdict in the George Zimmerman trial. Zimmerman was acquitted of murder when jurors agreed that he acted in self-defense when he shot and killed Trayvon Martin, a young unarmed black teenager. Let’s go back to the O.J. Simpson trial ... here ,despite overwhelming evidence of his guilt, Simpson was acquitted of the premeditated murders of his former wife Nicole and her friend Ron Goldman by a sympathetic black jury. After the verdict , there were news reels of black people rejoicing in the streets across America. And, although the majority of the white populace thought Simpson had gotten away with murder, there were no marches and very little protest. After the verdict in the Zimmerman case, blacks are marching all over America, saying the verdict was unjust. Let us ask ourselves, which verdict was more unjust?

Overwhelming evidence against OJ? Not true. Whites didn't march and protest the verdict? Where were you, locked up in a dungeon? They protested all over the country. And by the way, they made sure they were going to get OJ, they sued the pants off of him, and then finally put him in jail for 70 years for stealing back his own stuff. How's that for justice?

Zimmerman is not considered white if I go by what a judge said yesterday in a civil case when he spoke about being black ( he himself is ). he stated that if you have a drop of black in your heritage, you are considered Black. That must also go for Hispanics. therefore he is considered Hispanic and not white-Hispanic as the liberal media calls him for racist shock effect.

Just another racist subject. The trial is over and the jury decided - period! If this is not satisfactory to the majority then change the law outlawing jury trials.

Lets just move on shall we? I think the terrorist threats against this country that just came into light, are way more Important than this old news.

I agree. The black community's celebration, in cities throughout the country, of OJ's not guilty verdict was stomach turning. They didn't even care that he was an undeniable and violent wife beater. And, just in New Haven the other day, there was a not guilty verdict in the case of a black man accused of cold blooded murder of a white man. You don' see whites screaming and yelling, marching and protesting? There is no dispute a black youth killed he white man, but the jury found that the one guy charged had not been proved guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Civilized people respect the verdict, even if they disagree with it. Unfortunately, the black community hasn't evolved to the level of civility yet.

There are indeed double standards.....

Few Americans outside of Knoxville, Tenn., know about the case of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom, two young people who were kidnapped, savagely assaulted, raped, and murdered by people of a different race...

Google the case for the gruesome details....which did not draw the medias attention as did the Martin-Zimmerman circus did...

The same race baiters that supported OJ supported Trayvon....and they were wrong in both cases....Americas black population has become increasingly polarized through the efforts of professional race baiters such as Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Oprah Winfrey and Louis Farrakhan...

White people see no benefit to marching because since the inception of this country white people have been in a position of power and control. So when things happen that threaten the power and control, laws are written and passed to suppress them. I feel that the prosecution botched both cases and both men(OJ/Zimmerman) should be in prison for murder or manslaughter at the very least. I did not like the verdicts, but the laws being what they are I respect it. It's not what you know, it's what you can prove and the prosecution failed to do that in both cases.

Let us ask ourselves, which RESPONSE to the verdicts was better? The white community, who shrugged their collective shoulders and did nothing when Simpson was acquitted? Or the black community, getting off their couches and computers to go out and demand justice for themselves and Martin's memory? Give the black community credit for having the "get up and go" to actually DO something unlike the white community who didn't care enough to protest.
