Hypocrisy to ban AR-15s in Connecticut, but allow them to be made here

From their most recent statements, both Gov. Malloy and Sen. Blumenthal now stand exposed to the state and the nation as the political hypocrites they are.
Based on what is contained within his “wish list” of gun control measures released this week, Gov. Malloy wants to ban the future sale, but not the continued manufacture, of what he terms assault weapons in Connecticut.
That was followed up by Sen. Blumenthal’s comments when he heard other states were courting companies such as Colt, Mossberg and Stag Arms to move away from here. He said it was fine to make the weapons here as long as we don’t sell them here.
What that means to anyone with an ounce of understanding is both are saying that Connecticut citizens can’t be trusted or allowed to have such firearms, yet others outside our borders can be trusted with them. If either genuinely believed that assault weapons were a clear and present danger, their energies would be turned to completely stopping their production.
I guess they are simply following Gov. Cuomo and New York state’s lead – while the sale of AR-15s is now banned there, the firearms (including Bushmasters) continue to flow from a facility in Ilion, N.Y.
