Calm down and talk about crime control, not gun control

The gun control debate reflects the conflict between our left brains (logical, objective) and our right brains (intuitive, subjective). In times of stress, our right brains take over and we just act. Don’t think, just act. As things calm down, our left brains return us to rationality.
As every sales person and politician knows, you get people to do what you want without rationally considering better alternatives by getting them emotionally riled up and pressure them to act quickly before they regain their wits.
Gun control advocates trot out victims’ families, reminding us of the trauma we have experienced, then pressure us to ban something they cannot define, but just don’t like the look of. Unable to defend their arguments rationally, they call them “common sense.”
When things calm down and we start to think again, we see through this nonsense and talk about crime control, not gun control. Some right-brain dominated people will never calm down. They just don’t like the looks of certain firearms, just as some people don’t like spiders and snakes because of their spooky looks.
Let’s all just keep calming down and using our higher order mental processes. Gun bans are nonsense.
