Newtown state rep 'insane' to continue spouting pro-gun talking points

The article on Debra Lee Hovey that appeared on April 1 reinforced my belief that conservatives are so married to their own point of view that they cannot understand that they represent ALL of the people, not just themselves.
The Republican loss in the presidential election has unfortunately taught them nothing. Debra Hovey wants no gun law reform. She states she is against requiring owners to report lost or stolen guns because they might not even realize the guns are missing. Wow. I’ll bet they’d notice if their 50-inch flat screen TV was missing. Aren’t guns at least that important?
She states her guns are under "lock and key," yet she states her that her husband does plate shooting and she has no idea where those weapons are located or what type they are. Do they live in the same house, or what?
So now I see it clearly. We won’t pass that law because it just becomes too much trouble to keep track of all of our weapons, right? Now I’m really reassured!
However, the epitome of ignorance in my view was her response to what she would say to a Newtown resident (who may or may not be a relative of one of those babies) regarding assault weapons. She said she would want to have that conversation. I’m sure she would describe the nuts and bolts of what constitutes an assault weapon. These residents are not interested in the nuts and bolts. They cannot get those images out of their heads and are determined that this never happens again. They will never understand the need for more and more and more guns.
What in God’s name are these conservatives so afraid of? They wave the flag at every opportunity, yet voice total distrust at their own government. That is sick.
And her response to Gabby Gifford’s presence in Newtown, that it was a ploy for anti-gun propaganda, is just insane. I feel like I’ve fallen down the rabbit-hole.
In closing, I would say to all of our residents, in Newtown and throughout Connecticut, pay more attention to who you are electing to lead us. Consider carefully who you vote into office and pay more attention to what values these candidates bring to our state.
